He completed his internal medicine residency at UNLV after earning his MBChB from Al-Mustansiriyah University in Iraq. Bilingual in English and Arabic, Dr. Al-Tameemi is ABIM-certified and has extensive volunteer experience, including providing care to underserved populations. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, mentoring medical trainees, and fostering multicultural connections in healthcare.
Dr. Zeeshan Asif is an accomplished hospitalist with a focus on quality improvement and clinical research. A graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine, he completed his residency at the Mountain View Sunrise Internal Medicine program. His research on IgA vasculitis earned top honors at HCA presentations, and he has contributed to initiatives aimed at reducing inpatient falls and optimizing care for chronic cellulitis. Fluent in English, Urdu, and Hindi, Dr. Asif enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Ruby Bhullar is an experienced physician with expertise in hospital and family medicine. A graduate of the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, Tammera also holds a B.S. in Physiological Science with a minor in Film and Theater from UCLA. Her advocacy and community engagement are highlighted by her publications and speaking engagements, including interactions with Nevada’s elected officials. In her free time, Tammera enjoys exploring the interplay between medicine and media, which reflects her minor in film and theater.
Dr. Shivani Golden is a double board-certified Geriatrician who completed her Geriatrics & Administrative Fellowship at Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine in New York City, where she was named Chief Quality Fellow. Following her fellowship, she served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at NYU Langone Hospital and was the Quality Director for a 500+ bed skilled nursing facility. She led various initiatives in this role, including coordinating the COVID treatment response during the 2021 wave of the pandemic, when anti-COVID treatments were scarce. Due to her efforts, nearly 100 patients received life-sustaining treatment that helped prevent deaths and hospitalizations from COVID. She is currently a nursing home Medical Director and full-time physician in Rehabilitation centers. She is a yearly guest speaker at national Post-Acute and Long Term Care conferences, where she lectures on the subject of Medical Director contracts with legal counsel. She is a firm believer in evidence based medicine as well as a patient-centered, holistic approach to care where the needs and desires of her patients come first. She is deeply passionate about nursing homes and strives to bring her knowledge and experience from her work in New York to Las Vegas.
Dr. Daniel Golden is an attending physician and associate director of quality and patient safety at Valley Health System’s Department of Emergency Medicine. He has held these positions since July 2022. He also worked as a clinical research manager and firefighter in New York. Dr. Golden completed his residency at New York-Presbyterian Cornell & Columbia University Hospitals and has a Doctor of Medicine degree. He has received numerous honors and awards, including the Outstanding Citizenship Award and the Quality Improvement Champion. Dr. Golden is a member of the MCIC Leadership Committee and the Weill Cornell Emergency Department Quality & Patient Safety Committee. He has also been involved in several quality improvement initiatives.
Dr. Gubler is a family medicine physician who has been practicing medicine since 2015. He completed his medical training at Touro University-Nevada and his residency at Chino Valley Medical Center. Dr. Gubler is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the Society of Hospital Medicine, and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. He is also fluent in Spanish. In his spare time, Dr. Gubler enjoys volunteering at the Montclair Indigent Clinic, where he provides medical care for the indigent community.
Dr. Allen Abello completed his internal medicine residency at Broward Health Medical Center and holds a DO from Nova Southeastern University. With a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UNLV, Dr. Abello has earned accolades like the Kenneth Burnell Award and recognition for outstanding research presentations. He has served as an instructor at UNLV’s School of Life Sciences and is passionate about patient-centered care, endocrinology, and critical care. In his spare time, Dr. Abello enjoys engaging in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.
Born in Suriname, South America, Dr. Agbulos is a hospitalist who enjoys serving the Las Vegas community. Dr. Agbulos has been practicing medicine since 2005 and has experience in various medical settings. He completed his medical training at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in the Philippines. In his spare time, Dr. Agbulos enjoys a variety of hobbies, including tennis, soccer, biking, swimming, hiking, camping, fishing, watersports, and motorcycles.
Dr. Ahmed is originally from Karachi, Pakistan, and has been practicing medicine in the U.S. since 2011. She completed her medical training at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas. Dr. Ahmed is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, and the Association of Physician of Pakistani Descent of North America. She is fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi.
Dr. Tanveer Akbar is one of the founding partners of Platinum Hospitalists, where he has been instrumental in growing the practice from just four providers to over 150. Currently, he serves as the Director of Hospital Medicine, Physician Advisor for Utilization Management, and Chairperson for the Patient Safety Council at Spring Valley Hospital. A graduate of Allama Iqbal Medical College, Dr. Akbar is ABIM-certified with a focused practice in hospital medicine. His passion lies in clinical documentation improvement and enhancing patient safety, complemented by his volunteer work at the Al Maun Wellness Center in Las Vegas.
Dr. Farhad Alikozai is an internal medicine physician who graduated from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He completed his residency at UNLV from 2018 to 2021 and has been practicing as an attending physician since 2021. During his residency, he served as a class representative and GME Space Utilization Committee member. Dr. Alikozai is an ACP poster competition finalist and has volunteered on medical missions in Guatemala and during the COVID-19 pandemic. He is fluent in intermediate Spanish and basic Farsi. Dr. Alikozai prioritizes clear communication with his patients and strives to explain medical conditions and treatment plans in simple terms. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys traveling and is engaged to his fiancée, with whom he is planning his wedding. He is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys fitness and mentoring aspiring medical professionals.
Dr. Sami Alim has over 15 years of experience as a hospitalist and is one of the pioneering members of Platinum Hospitalists. A graduate of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in India, he completed advanced cardiology fellowships and is ABIM-certified. Dr. Alim has held leadership roles, including Program Director at Mercy Medical Center, and has received accolades such as the Commander’s Award for Public Service and the “Heart of WBAMC” medal. In his free time, Dr. Alim enjoys exploring new cuisines and fostering community health initiatives.
Anna Wern has over 31 years of experience in healthcare and currently serves as a nurse practitioner specializing in Endocrinology alongside Dr. Tarar at Platinum Continuity and Specialty Clinic. She earned her Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines, graduating as a national board topnotcher, and later completed her Master of Nursing in Family Practice with honors from Chamberlain University in 2017. Anna has held diverse roles across the United States, from staff nurse to Director of Nursing, before joining Platinum in 2018 as a nocturnist. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, collecting magnets, shopping, spending time with family, and relaxing with a good book and her cold brew.
Dr. Salman Arif is a board-certified internal medicine physician with a specialization in infectious diseases. He completed his medical degree with honors from the University of Health Sciences in Pakistan, followed by an Infectious Disease Fellowship at the University of Toledo, Ohio. Dr. Arif has served in various capacities including as an academic teaching attending at the Sunrise GME program at Southern Hills Hospital, Las Vegas, and as a hospitalist at Summerlin Hospital within the Valley Health System. Dr. Arif has engaged in significant research, including collaborative projects with Yale University and Johns Hopkins University, focusing on innovative treatments for infectious diseases. In his personal time, he enjoys squash, racquetball, cricket, reading, and photography.
Dr. Hrishikesh Kulkarni is a distinguished physician specializing in pulmonary care and internal medicine. He completed his M.B.B.S at Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Medical College in Pune, India, followed by an internal medicine residency at Case Western University/St. Vincent Charity Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was recognized for his excellence in research and medical procedures. Dr. Kulkarni also holds an MBA from the University of Arizona Eller School of Management. Dr. Kulkarni completed a fellowship in Pulmonary and Crititcal Care at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Dr. Omer Tarar is a triple board-certified endocrinologist specializing in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism, as well as Obesity Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Aga Khan University, completed his Internal Medicine residency at Jersey City Medical Center, and pursued his fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of South Carolina. Recognized for his dedication, he has earned accolades such as Las Vegas Top Doctor and multiple teaching awards. His clinical interests focus on managing diabetes and treating pituitary and adrenal disorders. Nerissa Torio is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with six years of experience and over a decade of progressive healthcare involvement. She began her career as a caregiver in an assisted living facility and later worked as a medical assistant while completing her associate degree in Nursing at the College of Southern Nevada. Nerissa earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Family Nurse Practice from Chamberlain University. As a registered nurse, she gained experience in med-telemetry as a relief charge nurse and later in ICU, caring for critically ill patients. Currently, she practices hospital medicine and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in Las Vegas. Her passion for healthcare drives her advocacy and commitment to advancing her knowledge to better serve her patients.
John Ray D. Torres is an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with 7 years of experience in healthcare. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Santo Tomas in 2013 and his Master of Science in Nursing from Purdue University Global in 2019. Torres has worked as a Registered Nurse at Kaiser Permanente, Lake Mead Health and Rehabilitation, North Vista Hospital, and Summerlin Hospital Medical Center. He has held various roles, including Care Ambassador, Charge Nurse, and Clinical Supervisor. He is also a pioneer of Night Call Productions Inc. and a regional table tennis champion.
Dr. Ali Rafatnia is a board-certified family medicine physician with a strong background in both outpatient and inpatient care. Dr. Rafatnia has broad expertise in clinical procedures such as central line access, thoracentesis, and rapid sequence intubation. Dr. Michelle Baek Tan is originally from Los Angeles, CA. After initially earning her bachelor’s degree from BYU, she moved to Las Vegas where she earned her medical degree at Touro University and completed her residency training at VHS where she was Chief Resident her final year. She now considers Las Vegas home and loves cooking, hiking, and spending time with her husband and two golden doodles.
Dr. Bersabel Woldemariam is a family medicine physician with a rich background in biochemistry and molecular biology. After completing her medical education at Touro University Nevada, Dr. Woldemariam engaged in several scholarly activities, including publications on medical education predictors and fungal sinusitis. Her hobbies include painting, jewelry making, knitting, and crafting, reflecting her creative side alongside her medical expertise.
Dr. Nauhar Bhatia is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and earned his medical degree from the Medical University of the Americas and has 9.5 years of healthcare experience, including 3 years in residency and 3 years at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Originally from Toronto and now based in the USA, Dr. Bhatia emphasizes preventive medicine, focusing on patient education and guidance in areas such as weight loss, smoking and alcohol cessation, exercise, nutrition, and mental health. Mary Kristine Daria is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience as a Registered Nurse and 3 years as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). She earned her Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Adult-Gerontology from Grand Canyon University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Santo Tomas, Legazpi. Keith Monsay is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with advanced training from Grand Canyon University and over 15 years of experience in healthcare. Starting his career as an RN in critical care and trauma units, Keith developed a strong foundation in managing acutely ill patients. He now applies his expertise at Platinum Palliative Care Services, providing comprehensive care for patients with serious and life-limiting illnesses. Fluent in Lao, Keith enjoys playing sports and spending time with his family.
Dr. Diana D. Lee is a hospitalist with extensive experience in both inpatient and palliative care settings. She earned her medical degree from Capital University of Medical Sciences in Beijing and completed her internal medicine residency at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, affiliated with Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Lee has held hospitalist positions at various healthcare institutions, including Platinum Hospitalist Group, Mercy Medical Group, and Woodland Healthcare. She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Lee has served on medical committees and is a member of several professional organizations.
Dr. Robert J. Paulino, M.D., is an accomplished internal medicine and palliative care physician with extensive experience in hospital and hospice settings. He obtained his medical degree from the University of the Philippines and completed his internal medicine residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, followed by a palliative and hospice medicine fellowship at the VA GRECC affiliated with Mount Sinai. Dr. Paulino provides comprehensive medical care across a variety of settings, the majority of which are at skilled nursing facilities.
