Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, he completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington, in Biology-Physiology and his medical degree from Touro University Nevada in Las Vegas. In addition, he holds a Masters in Business Administration. He has extensive research experience with several published peer review manuscripts and conference presentations. Currently practicing in Las Vegas as a Hospitalist with a goal of providing evidence-based patient-centered care. Tarar, Omer MD

Dr. Omer Tarar is a triple board-certified endocrinologist specializing in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism, as well as Obesity Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Aga Khan University, completed his Internal Medicine residency at Jersey City Medical Center, and pursued his fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of South Carolina. Recognized for his dedication, he has earned accolades such as Las Vegas Top Doctor and multiple teaching awards. His clinical interests focus on managing diabetes and treating pituitary and adrenal disorders. Outside of medicine, Dr. Tarar enjoys tennis, traveling, exploring new cuisines, and immersing himself in nature.

Shaikh, Nasreen MD

Akhondi asl, Hossein (Alex) MD

Dr. Hossein Alex Akhondi-Asl, FACP, is a seasoned hospitalist and educator with over two decades of experience. He is the Founding Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency at Valley Health System, where he oversees academic programs and resident training. Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Akhondi-Asl has authored over 93 publications and delivered more than 100 presentations. A recipient of numerous national awards, he is known for his leadership in clinical research and residency program development. Brah, Harneel MD

Dr. Harneel Brah is an internal medicine physician who completed his residency at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Aureus University in Aruba and holds a Bachelor of Health Science degree from Manipal University in India. Dr. Brah is board-eligible with the ABIM. Bigger, Poupak MD

Dr. Poupak Bigger is an internal medicine physician with extensive experience in hospital medicine and leadership roles. She earned her medical degree from the University of Vienna and completed her residency at Temple University Hospital. Dr. Bigger has held various positions, including founding her own medical company and establishing a hospital medicine division at Mt. Sinai Hospital. Sheikh, Sameer Ijaz MD

Dr. Sheikh is a board-certified internal medicine physician with extensive experience in hospital medicine. He earned his medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine. He has worked as a hospitalist at University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada for over 15 years. Dr. Sheikh also has experience in community medicine and healthcare. He previously worked as a technical consultant for Phenomenex Inc., where he consulted marketing and sales staff on technical parameters of pharmaceutical/synthetic protein method development. Dr. Sheikh also served as a teaching assistant in the Department of Biology at UCSD, where he lectured biology classes and conducted review lectures.

Dr. Shivani Golden is a double board-certified Geriatrician who completed her Geriatrics & Administrative Fellowship at Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine in New York City, where she was named Chief Quality Fellow. Following her fellowship, she served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at NYU Langone Hospital and was the Quality Director for a 500+ bed skilled nursing facility. She led various initiatives in this role, including coordinating the COVID treatment response during the 2021 wave of the pandemic, when anti-COVID treatments were scarce. Due to her efforts, nearly 100 patients received life-sustaining treatment that helped prevent deaths and hospitalizations from COVID.
