An avid sports enthusiast and scholar, RJ Funnamark is currently completing his internal medicine residency at Valley Hospital Medical Center. With a strong foundation from A.T. Still University and an impressive tenure as a volunteer tutor, RJ brings both academic excellence and heartfelt community service to the table. His research interests are broad, yet he finds time to indulge in basketball, guitar, and hiking. RJ’s commitment to health extends beyond the hospital as he enjoys brewing his own coffee and spending quality time with his dog.
Dr. Gibbs is a graduate of West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to her current position, she served as a physician in the United States Air Force, where she reached the rank of Major. During her time in the Air Force, she held various roles, including Primary Care Manager, Medical Consultant, and Sexual Assault Medical Forensic Examiner. Dr. Gibbs has also served as the Medical Director of Internal Medicine and the Allergy and Immunizations Officer in Charge at the 35th Medical Group in Misawa, Japan.
Dr. Ariel Go’s journey in medicine is marked by a profound commitment to research and education. After earning his medical degree from the University of Miami and completing his residency at UNLV, Ariel has published extensively on respiratory physiology and neurobiology. His current role as a nocturnist with Platinum Hospitalists allows him to apply his deep knowledge practically. Ariel’s research interests include the physiological responses to hypoxia, which he explored during his Master’s at UC San Diego. His dedication to medical education and research is matched by his love for physiology and neuroscience.
Dr. Eric Gupta is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician. Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, he completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington, in Biology-Physiology and his medical degree from Touro University Nevada in Las Vegas. In addition, he holds a Masters in Business Administration. He has extensive research experience with several published peer review manuscripts and conference presentations. Currently practicing in Las Vegas as a Hospitalist with a goal of providing evidence-based patient-centered care. In his free time, Dr. Gupta enjoys traveling, cooking, exploring new cuisines, and coffee.
Dr. Ryan Hampton’s journey in medicine is marked by a unique blend of scientific rigor and practical experience. Before medical school, he was a chemist involved in quality control for pharmaceutical and cosmetic products. Dr. Hampton completed his medical degree at the Western University of Health Sciences and his residency in internal medicine at Valley Hospital Medical Center. His meticulous approach to patient care is enhanced by his analytical skills, making him a distinguished member of the team.
Dr. Hanson is a board-certified internal medicine physician. He completed his medical training at the University of Nevada – Reno School of Medicine and residency at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, School of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine. He has also served as a teaching assistant and student instructor. Dr. Hanson has presented his research at national meetings and has been published in medical journals.
Dr. Ali Haq brings a rich blend of clinical acumen and a passion for teaching to his role as a hospitalist and GME attending physician. Originally from Pakistan and now based in Las Vegas, Dr. Haq completed his internal medicine residency at Rutgers Health, where he also served as Chief Resident. His dedication to medical education shines through his current role as a teaching attending, where he imparts critical skills to family medicine residents. Dr. Haq is known for his ability to handle complex patient cases with ease and his commitment to evidence-based patient care.
Having completed her internal medicine residency at Sunrise Health, Dr. Udanie Hewapathirana demonstrates a profound dedication to medical research and education. Her academic journey took her from the University of California, Davis to the American University of the Caribbean. Dr. Hewapathirana has been recognized multiple times for her research achievements and is actively involved in various committees aimed at improving medical education and patient care standards. Her enthusiasm for teaching and commitment to medicine significantly enriches her interactions with both patients and peers.
Dr. Eric Huynh combines his medical expertise with a strong foundation in business management to enhance healthcare delivery. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Las Vegas after earning an MBA from Texas Tech University. Dr. Huynh is known for his involvement in several quality improvement projects and has presented his research at national conferences. His role at Platinum Hospitalists is complemented by his strategic insight into healthcare operations, making him a valuable asset to the team.
Dr. Kovin Huynh is a board-certified internal medicine physician practicing as a hospitalist in Las Vegas, Nevada. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Touro University Nevada and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Valley Hospital Medical Center. Since 2018, Dr. Huynh has been part of Platinum Hospitalists and he is actively involved in hospital leadership, serving on the Practitioner Performance Improvement and Utilization Review Committees. Dr. Huynh’s published work includes an article on Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonists for Type 2 Diabetes in American Health & Drug Benefits.
Dr. Ilustrisimo completed his medical training at Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine and his internal medicine residency at Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Ilustrisimo has also served as an instructor at Los Medanos College and a research associate at UC Berkeley. He has published several research papers and presentations in the field of medicine.
Dr. Sarel Iskender was the Chief Resident at Valley Hospital Medical Center during her residency program, where she has made significant contributions to the internal medicine program. Educated at Touro University Nevada, Dr. Iskender has a background in cellular biology from California State University Northridge. She is fluent in Armenian and moderately fluent in sign language, enhancing her ability to connect with a diverse patient base. Her leadership extends beyond the hospital as she actively participates in various professional organizations, underscoring her commitment to the medical field.
Dr. Jahangir is a board-certified internal medicine physician. She completed her medical training at Allama Iqbal Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. She completed her residency at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Dr. Jahangir is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Association of American Medical Colleges. She has published several research papers and presentations in the field of medicine. In her free time, she enjoys classical dancing, singing, and writing plays.
Dr. Jilani did his prelim Internal Medicine residency year at Rutgers – Trinitas Regional Medical Center, and Internal Medicine residency at HCA Healthcare Sunrise Health Graduate Medical Education Program, where he served as the Chief Resident. He is a graduate of Ziauddin Medical University in Pakistan. Dr. Jilani has over 50 published articles in various journals, including the Nature Medical Journal, and has presented his research at national and international conferences. He has also served as an editor and author for STATPEARLS, publishing several CME pubmed indexed articles. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, listening to music, watching movies, performing arts, traveling, hiking, and camping.
Dr. Jonathan Yaghoobian is an accomplished physician with a deep passion for internal medicine. Having completed his residency at Mountainview Hospital, Dr. Yaghoobian has been actively involved in various clinical roles and research projects focused on cancer cell adhesion and nematode behavior. His bilingual proficiency in English and Farsi enhances his ability to communicate effectively with a diverse patient base.
