Emil Almachar is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with almost 10 years of experience in healthcare. He began his career as a Cavalry Scout in the Nevada Army National Guard before transitioning to nursing. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and his Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Nevada, Reno. He was a Registered Nurse in the Adult Emergency Department at Sunrise Hospital when he started his nursing career back in 2015. He was a recipient of the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses.

Cervantes, Christian, FNP-BC.

Christian Cervantes, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, brings a wealth of experience to his role, having started his career as a critical care nurse. He earned his Master’s degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in 2021 and is proudly certified by the ANCC. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Christian balances his professional dedication with a passion for travel, gaming, and sports. He is an avid supporter of the Golden State Warriors and San Francisco 49ers and enjoys attending professional wrestling events.

Daria, Mary Kristine, AGACNP-BC.

Mary Kristine Daria is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience as a Registered Nurse and 3 years as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). She earned her Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Adult-Gerontology from Grand Canyon University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Santo Tomas, Legazpi. Mary Kristine is dedicated to delivering excellent patient care and enjoys cooking and traveling with family and friends in her personal time.

Villarama, Joseph, FNP-BC.

Joseph Villarama is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. He earned his Master of Science in Nursing from United States University and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNLV. With seven years of nursing experience spanning IV hydration, IMC, ICU, open heart recovery, and rapid response, Joseph now brings his expertise to his current role as an NP. Outside of work, he enjoys working out, snowboarding, CrossFit, pickleball, traveling, and caring for his two dogs and seven houseplants.

Ronald Reny Dampog is a dual-certified nurse practitioner in Acute Care and Family Nurse Practice, earning both certifications through advanced training at Purdue University Global. With over a decade of healthcare experience, Ronald began his career as a registered nurse in high-acuity intensive care and medical-surgical units, where he managed complex post-surgical, neuro, and cardiac patients. Currently serving as a nocturnist APRN with Platinum Hospitalists, Ronald specializes in managing acute and chronic conditions during overnight shifts, ensuring seamless and high-quality patient care. Fluent in English and Tagalog, he brings a well-rounded perspective to patient interactions. Outside of work, Ronald enjoys spending time with his family.

Musante, Alisa, FNP-C.

Alisa Musante is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of experience in healthcare. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Virginia University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Simmons College. Musante began her career with Platinum Hospitalists as part of the nocturnist team, showcasing her dedication to patient care during overnight hours. She has since transitioned to become one of the dedicated Endocrinology Nurse Practitioners within Platinum’s Endocrinology service. On her free time, she is busy with real estate gigs.

Ochoco, Mario, FNP-BC.

Mario Ochoco is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Holy Name University in the Philippines in 2006 and completed his Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Family Practice from Chamberlain University in 2023. Mario joined the Platinum Hospitalist group in 2023 as a nocturnist. During his time off, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and son.

Pulma, Joshua, FNP-C.

Joshua Pulma is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with 7 years of experience specializing in cardiovascular and critical care. He is dedicated to providing high-quality care through patient assessment, emergency response, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Pulma earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science and his Family Nurse Practitioner-MSN degree at the same institution. He has worked as an ICU Registered Nurse at Dignity Health and UMC, where he gained experience in open heart recovery, IABP and Impella monitoring, and CRRT. Byron James J. Ricana is an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in healthcare. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Touro University and his Master of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University. Ricana has worked as a Registered Nurse and Critical Care Nurse Practitioner at various hospitals, including Sunrise Hospital, Southern Hills Hospital, and Desert Springs Hospital. Salvador, Mark DNP, AGACNP-BC, FNP-C.

Dr. Mark Salvador, APRN, is a dual-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care and Family Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience in healthcare. His advanced nurse practitioner training was completed at Walden University and the University of Nevada-Reno. He earned his DNP degree at Capella University with a project focused on improving inpatient resource utilization and patient experience through coordinated daily rounding. In 2017, he completed a post-graduate neurovascular advanced practice fellowship at Arizona State University, furthering his expertise in stroke care and neurovascular management. As the Lead Nurse Practitioner and Nocturnist for Platinum Hospitalists, Mark is pivotal in overseeing high-acuity patient care during the overnight hours. He also played a key role in establishing the Platinum Continuity and Specialty Clinic, where he serves as Clinical Director. He spearheaded the development of the Transitional Care Management Program, significantly enhancing post-discharge care. Outside of work, Mark enjoys movies, staying active, and spending quality time with his family.

Jasmin San Luis is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with 13 years of experience in healthcare. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Our Lady of Fatima University in 2006 and her Master of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2018. San Luis has worked as a Registered Nurse and Critical Care Nurse Practitioner in various hospitals, including Valley Hospital, Sunrise Hospital, and Pulmonary Associates. Dr. Atongane Taku, APRN, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with almost 10 years of experience in patient care. Taku earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oklahoma City University, her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at the same institution. Nerissa Torio is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with six years of experience and over a decade of progressive healthcare involvement. She began her career as a caregiver in an assisted living facility and later worked as a medical assistant while completing her associate degree in Nursing at the College of Southern Nevada. Nerissa earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Family Nurse Practice from Chamberlain University. As a registered nurse, she gained experience in med-telemetry as a relief charge nurse and later in ICU, caring for critically ill patients. Currently, she practices hospital medicine and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in Las Vegas. Her passion for healthcare drives her advocacy and commitment to advancing her knowledge to better serve her patients.

Torres, John Ray, AGNP-C.

John Ray D. Torres is an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with 7 years of experience in healthcare. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Santo Tomas in 2013 and his Master of Science in Nursing from Purdue University Global in 2019. Anna Wern has over 31 years of experience in healthcare and currently serves as a nurse practitioner specializing in Endocrinology alongside Dr. Tarar at Platinum Continuity and Specialty Clinic. She earned her Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines, graduating as a national board topnotcher, and later completed her Master of Nursing in Family Practice with honors from Chamberlain University in 2017. Anna has held diverse roles across the United States, from staff nurse to Director of Nursing, before joining Platinum in 2018 as a nocturnist. Abello, Allen, DO.

Dr. Allen Abello completed his internal medicine residency at Broward Health Medical Center and holds a DO from Nova Southeastern University. With a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UNLV, Dr. Abello has earned accolades like the Kenneth Burnell Award and recognition for outstanding research presentations. He has served as an instructor at UNLV’s School of Life Sciences and is passionate about patient-centered care, endocrinology, and critical care. In his spare time, Dr. Abello enjoys engaging in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.

Agbulos, Gerard, MD.

Born in Suriname, South America, Dr. Agbulos is a hospitalist who enjoys serving the Las Vegas community. Dr. Agbulos has been practicing medicine since 2005 and has experience in various medical settings. He completed his medical training at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in the Philippines. In his spare time, Dr. Agbulos enjoys a variety of hobbies, including tennis, soccer, biking, swimming, hiking, camping, fishing, watersports, and motorcycles.

Ahmed, Shamoona, MD.

Dr. Ahmed is originally from Karachi, Pakistan, and has been practicing medicine in the U.S. since 2011. She completed her medical training at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas. Dr. Ahmed is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, and the Association of Physician of Pakistani Descent of North America. She is fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi.

Akbar, Tanveer, MD.

Dr. Tanveer Akbar is one of the founding partners of Platinum Hospitalists, where he has been instrumental in growing the practice from just four providers to over 150. Currently, he serves as the Director of Hospital Medicine, Physician Advisor for Utilization Management, and Chairperson for the Patient Safety Council at Spring Valley Hospital. A graduate of Allama Iqbal Medical College, Dr. Akbar is ABIM-certified with a focused practice in hospital medicine. His passion lies in clinical documentation improvement and enhancing patient safety, complemented by his volunteer work at the Al Maun Wellness Center in Las Vegas.

Alikozai, Farhad, DO.

Dr. Farhad Alikozai is an internal medicine physician who graduated from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He completed his residency at UNLV from 2018 to 2021 and has been practicing as an attending physician since 2021. During his residency, he served as a class representative and GME Space Utilization Committee member. Dr. Alikozai is an ACP poster competition finalist and has volunteered on medical missions in Guatemala and during the COVID-19 pandemic. He is fluent in intermediate Spanish and basic Farsi. Dr. Alikozai prioritizes clear communication with his patients and strives to explain medical conditions and treatment plans in simple terms. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys traveling and is engaged to his fiancée, with whom he is planning his wedding. Dr. Sami Alim has over 15 years of experience as a hospitalist and is one of the pioneering members of Platinum Hospitalists. A graduate of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in India, he completed advanced cardiology fellowships and is ABIM-certified. Dr. Alim has held leadership roles, including Program Director at Mercy Medical Center, and has received accolades such as the Commander’s Award for Public Service and the “Heart of WBAMC” medal. In his free time, Dr. Alim enjoys exploring new cuisines and fostering community health initiatives.

Al-Tameemi, Ahmed, MD.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Tameemi brings a strong commitment to evidence-based medicine and patient care. He completed his internal medicine residency at UNLV after earning his MBChB from Al-Mustansiriyah University in Iraq. Bilingual in English and Arabic, Dr. Al-Tameemi is ABIM-certified and has extensive volunteer experience, including providing care to underserved populations. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, mentoring medical trainees, and fostering multicultural connections in healthcare.

Asif, Zeeshan, MD.

Dr. Zeeshan Asif is an accomplished hospitalist with a focus on quality improvement and clinical research. A graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine, he completed his residency at the Mountain View Sunrise Internal Medicine program. His research on IgA vasculitis earned top honors at HCA presentations, and he has contributed to initiatives aimed at reducing inpatient falls and optimizing care for chronic cellulitis. Dr. Michelle Baek Tan is originally from Los Angeles, CA. After initially earning her bachelor’s degree from BYU, she moved to Las Vegas where she earned her medical degree at Touro University and completed her residency training at VHS where she was Chief Resident her final year. She now considers Las Vegas home and loves cooking, hiking, and spending time with her husband and two golden doodles.

Dr. Leeda Barikzi is a board-certified internal medicine physician who earned her medical degree from Kansas City University and completed her residency at University Medical Center, where she has practiced since 2023. Dr. Barikzi was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and enjoys giving back to her community. Fluent in English and Farsi Dr. Barikzi enjoys spending time with her family and watching movies in her free time.

Dr. Shfali Bhandari is an internal medicine physician who completed her residency at HCA Healthcare/USF Morsani College of Medicine in Brandon, Florida. Her research portfolio includes quality improvement projects on atrial fibrillation documentation, influenza vaccination compliance, and multiple case studies presented at ACP Florida meetings. As an active member of residency committees, including the Resident Wellness Committee and Ethics Committee, Dr. Bhandari has promoted physical, social, and psychological well-being among peers. Outside of work, Dr. Bhandari enjoys basketball, Indian dance, cooking, and traveling, which complement her well-rounded and compassionate approach to patient care.

Bhatia, Nauhar, MD.

Dr. Nauhar Bhatia is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and earned his medical degree from the Medical University of the Americas and has 9.5 years of healthcare experience, including 3 years in residency and 3 years at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Originally from Toronto and now based in the USA, Dr. Bhatia emphasizes preventive medicine, focusing on patient education and guidance in areas such as weight loss, smoking and alcohol cessation, exercise, nutrition, and mental health. Known for his excellent communication skills and ability to build strong rapport, he provides comprehensive, compassionate care to his patients. Dr. Ruby Bhullar is an experienced physician with expertise in hospital and family medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at East Jefferson General Hospital/Tulane School of Medicine and holds board certification from the American Board of Family Medicine. With years of hospitalist experience across various Las Vegas healthcare systems, Dr. Bhullar excels in managing acute medical conditions. Her background also includes outpatient care, social services coordination, and leadership roles in multidisciplinary care teams. Fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi, Dr. Bhullar brings cultural sensitivity and a personalized approach to patient care.

Bigger, Poupak, MD.

Dr. Poupak Bigger is an internal medicine physician with extensive experience in hospital medicine and leadership roles. She earned her medical degree from the University of Vienna and completed her residency at Temple University Hospital. Dr. Bigger has held various positions, including founding her own medical company and establishing a hospital medicine division at Mt. Sinai Hospital. She has also served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at both Mt. Sinai and ENH/Northwestern University Hospital. Her research interests include cytokine regulation and apoptosis, and she has co-authored publications and has manuscripts in preparation. Dr. Bigger is fluent in English, German, and Farsi, and enjoys hobbies such as dancing, skiing, and traveling.

Dr. Prentice Bowman is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician with 12 years of clinical experience. He earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Bowman has served in diverse roles, including as a hospitalist, outpatient primary care physician, and critical care team chief during his tenure with the U.S. Air Force. Dr. Harneel Brah is an internal medicine physician who completed his residency at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Aureus University in Aruba and holds a Bachelor of Health Science degree from Manipal University in India. Dr. Brah is board-eligible with the ABIM. Broyles, Jesse E, DO.

Dr. Jesse Broyles is an internal medicine physician who completed his residency and internship at Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas. A graduate of Touro University Nevada, where he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and a Master of Health Science, Dr. Broyles has a diverse background in patient care, research, and quality improvement. While he enjoys the breadth of general medicine, he particularly has an interest in cardiology and critical care, with publications in those fields. Dr. Shilpa Daulat is a board-certified internal medicine physician who completed her medical degree at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV and her residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
